ELPC Deputy Director Kevin Brubaker responded to an editorial in the Detroit News with a letter to the editor that highlights the benefits of high speed rail and the historic opportunity that stimulus funding offers Midwest states.

    It is absolutely imperitave that Michigan wake up to the simple economics that building Transit can bring to our state. It is sad that the Detroit News is determined to keep us a donor state. Mr. Brubaker rightly points out that the impetus and political will have finally caught up to the grass roots, Michigan only needs to decide if we are going to remain dinosaurs, or get over our dysfunctional dependence on our cars and get on board to a sustainable future.
