ELPC Advocacy Pays Off – Iowa Governor Approves Rail Funding

ELPC has spent years promoting passenger rail as a convenient and sustainable transportation option for Midwest. On Monday, Iowa Governor Chet Culver signed important legislation that will move passenger rail forward in Iowa.
With this legislation and a commitment of $3 million, Iowa will be able to leverage many millions more in federal funds to make rail service between Chicago, the Quad Cities, Iowa City and Des Moines a reality in the next few years. Read the coverage of this legislation here.
