Obama Budget Doubles Funding for Innovative Rural Energy Program

In the detailed budget proposal released today, the Obama Administration more than doubled planned funding for the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), which provides grants and loan guarantees for farmers and rural small businesses to develop renewable energy and invest in energy efficiency.

ELPC has been working for years to expand and support REAP, a program that reduces pollution and creates rural economic development by growing clean energy on America’s farms and rural areas.
