Michigan Denies Permit for Wolverine Coal Plant

On May 21st, ELPC and our coalition partners scored a huge victory after a four-year battle against a proposed coal plant in Rogers City, Michigan. The proposed 600 MW coal plant would have created huge amounts of global warming pollution. After reviewing ELPC’s and other comments, the Michigan Public Service Commission found that the new plant was unnecessary and that increasing energy efficiency and adding renewable energy would be the more cost effective.
