Des Moines Business Leaders Push For Passenger Rail

ELPC and the Greater Des Moines Partnership are working to build support for high-speed rail service between Chicago, Iowa City and Des Moines, Iowa. Rail service would bring new business opportunities to the area while creating a convenient, sustainable travel option in this Midwestern corridor. Iowa’s Department of Transportation recently submitted an application for a second round of federal passenger rail funding to create rail service between Chicago and Iowa City. Des Moines business leaders gathered at a rally on August 31 to show their support for passenger rail.
