Under the recent Volkswagen Settlement, Midwest states stand to receive more than $330 million for local air quality efforts, including school bus replacement.
As states begin to allocate these funds, the Environmental Law & Policy Center invites you to register for our webinar on Electric School Buses: A VW Settlement Opportunity.
This timely, one-hour webinar will focus on how school districts can safeguard children from the harmful effects of diesel school bus pollution by leveraging VW funds to make electric school buses affordable. In addition to direct health and climate benefits, electric school buses offer opportunities to reduce operational and maintenance costs. They also hold potential to provide backup power and electric grid services that could serve as an additional revenue stream for cash-strapped school districts.
The webinar will provide an overview of electric school bus opportunities, with updates and case studies from pilot programs on the east and west coasts. Presenters include national experts from the Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) and National Strategies (NSI), who will share learnings from electric school bus efforts in Massachusetts and California.
This webinar is designed for school transportation managers, school board members, municipal procurement officers, utility smart grid representatives, health officials and environmental organizations interested in learning the latest updates and technological developments from those who have conducted electric school bus pilots across the United States.
