ELPC Giveaway 2024: A Night Away on Navy Pier

OFFICIAL RULES:

There is no purchase, donation, or pledge necessary to enter or win. A purchase, donation, or pledge will not increase your chances of winning.

ELIGIBILITY:

To enter or win, you must be a legal U.S. resident 21 years or older and physically residing in the 50 United States (including D.C.). Residents of New York or Florida are not eligible to enter or win. Employees of the Environmental Law & Policy Center, the immediate family (parent, spouse, sibling, child, grandparent, grandchild), and household members of all such employees are NOT eligible. Promotion is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void in New York, Florida, and where prohibited or restricted by law.

HOW TO ENTER:

There are two ways to enter the sweepstakes.

  1. Donate or pledge to enter: Participants who donate or pledge to ELPC either online, by email, or by telephone will be automatically entered into the sweepstakes. Go to ELPC.org to donate online, email your pledge to [email protected], or call 312-673-6500 to donate/pledge over the phone.
  2. Enter without donation/pledge: Email your name, email, and phone to [email protected] or call 312-673-6500 and leave your name, email, and phone.

Entries must be submitted between midnight Central Standard Time (CST) on December 26, 2024, and 11:59 pm Central Standard Time (CST) on December 28, 2024. ELPC is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, corrupted, or misdirected entries.

WINNERS:

Winners will be announced on the ELPC website (elpc.org) by Friday, January 17, 2025, at 5:00 pm CST. Winners will also be contacted individually.

PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES:

  • Three (3) prizes will be awarded to one (1) winner. Blackout dates apply.
  • One (1) winner will receive a one (1) night stay at the Sable Hotel at Navy Pier Chicago. A maximum of two people may stay in the room. Approximate retail value (ARV) is $300.
  • One (1) winner will receive dinner for two (2) at Offshore Rooftop. ARV is $80 per person.
  • One (1) winner will receive breakfast for two (2) at Lirica Restaurant. ARV is $40 per person.
  • The total prize package ARV is $540.
  • The odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. Taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Any guarantees and warranties for merchandise prizes are subject to the manufacturer’s and/or service provider’s terms and conditions, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers and/or service providers for any warranty or guarantee claim. Prizes are non-transferable, and no substitution or cash equivalent is allowed. ELPC reserves the right to substitute prizes of the same approximate retail value.

SELECTION OF WINNERS:

Prizes will be awarded in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. Drawings will be conducted following these official rules. ELPC’s decisions on all matters related to the sweepstakes are binding and final. The winner will be notified by e-mail at the e-mail address provided by Monday, January 6, 2025, and will be required to respond within ten days, or the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be chosen. The winner will be posted on ELPC’s website at elpc.org from January 6, 2025, to March 31, 2025.

RELEASE:

By entering, the participant agrees to accept and abide by the rules of this sweepstakes and agrees that any dispute about the conduct of this sweepstakes, rule interpretation, or award of prize shall be submitted to ELPC, whose decision shall be binding and final. By participating, the participant agrees to release and hold harmless ELPC and its respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives, as well as any person or entity that donates to ELPC any prize awarded according to these sweepstakes from any injury, loss or damage to person, including death, or property due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to the acceptance or use/misuse of a prize, participation in any sweepstakes-related activity, or participation in the sweepstakes.

ELPC is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of these Official Rules, administration of the sweepstakes, or in the announcement of prizes, including erroneous appearance of qualification for a prize, and under no circumstances will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded. If, for any reason, ELPC is prevented from continuing with this sweepstakes, or the integrity and/or feasibility of the sweepstakes is severely undermined by any event including fire, flood, explosion, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, or any federal, state or local government law, order or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, ELPC shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to abbreviate, modify, suspend, cancel or terminate the sweepstakes without further obligation. If ELPC, at its discretion, elects to abbreviate the sweepstakes, ELPC reserves the right, but not the obligation, to award the prize from among all eligible entries. All entries are the property of ELPC and are not returnable.

This promotion is intended for viewing in the United States only and shall be construed and evaluated only according to United States law. Do not enter this promotion if you are not in the United States. The use of any automated devices in connection with this promotion is prohibited. ELPC assumes no responsibility for the computer system, hardware, software, or program malfunctions or other errors, failures, delayed computer transactions, or network connections, whether human, technical, or otherwise. ELPC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this promotion should viruses, bugs, or other causes beyond its control corrupt its administration, security, or proper play. ELPC is not responsible for any injury or damage to any person’s computer or related equipment resulting from or relating to participation in this promotion or downloading any material related to this promotion. Entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at entry. In a dispute, the potential winner may be required to provide proof that he or she is the authorized holder of the identified e-mail account.

DISPUTES/CHOICE OF LAW:

Except where prohibited, each participant agrees that: (1) any disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with these sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by state or federal courts situated in Chicago, IL, (2) any claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) no punitive, incidental, special, consequential or other damages, including without limitation, lost profits, may be awarded (collectively, “Special Damages”), and (4) entrant hereby waives all rights to claim Special Damages and all rights to have such damages multiplied or increased. Without reference to choice of law rules, Illinois law governs the sweepstakes and all aspects related thereto.
