Biden Administration “Clears the Air” on Reducing Mercury

ELPC commends the administration for reaffirming the “appropriate and necessary” finding to support regulating dangerous mercury pollution.

STATEMENT BY HOWARD A. LEARNER
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENTAL LAW & POLICY CENTER

“ELPC commends the Biden administration for clearing the air on the required ‘appropriate and necessary’ finding. Mercury pollution from coal plants and other sources endangers kids’ health, pollutes our Great Lakes, and makes fish you catch less safe to eat. The EPA should now move full speed ahead to strengthen other important standards to protect healthier clean air, safe clean water, and our families.”
