Federal Inventory of Mature & Old Growth Trees in National Forests Vital for Conservation

“The Environmental Law & Policy Center welcomes the Biden administration’s leadership to inventory and conserve mature and old-growth forests in our federal forests. However, the Forest Service doesn’t heed President Biden’s Executive Order to conserve these trees and issues new timber sales in mature forests in Wisconsin’s Northwoods. The proposed rulemaking should permanently protect these trees that protect us from climate change, and provide important habitat and recreation.”
