Jeffrey Hammons is a staff attorney at ELPC focusing on environmental enforcement and clean energy litigation. Jeff uses legal advocacy to promote cleaner air, and cleaner water as well as the development of renewable energy on both residential and utility-scale. Jeff’s experience includes proceedings in front of federal district courts and courts of appeals, state public utility commissions and environmental agencies, and federal agencies whose work touches on environmental or energy issues. During law school, Jeff spent two summers and a semester as a law clerk with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel and Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance.
I love the Sylvania Wilderness area in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula because it’s a great place to paddle on pristine glacial lakes and get away from the noise and commotion of the city. Paddling on the Wisconsin River in the beautiful Driftless Area is another favorite.
Enforcing environmental laws to protect public health. When industry cuts environmental costs, they often end up imposing undue pollution burdens on low income families and communities of color. That’s not right.
