Senior Research Analyst
Lucas Stephens is a senior research analyst at ELPC, working on a broad range on land-use issues and their impacts on air and water quality. Lucas uses his geospatial analytic skills to assess pollution risks and inform sustainable land-use and transportation policies. Previously, he studied the deep past of human landscapes as an archaeologist and led the ArchaeoGLOBE Project in 2018. He and his wife (who is still an archaeologist) live in Chicago with their dog.
I love Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for its rich topography and beautiful forests. Walking or biking along Lake Michigan is also one of my favorite pastimes.
I am fascinated by the relationships that people form with their environments and the ecological inheritance of special places and cultures. We should preserve the ability of future generations to enjoy the environment of the Midwest.
