Rachel Granneman

Staff Attorney

Rachel Granneman is a staff attorney at ELPC, focusing on natural resource protection, fighting boondoggle infrastructure projects, and energy policy. She practices in a variety of forums, including federal and state courts and public service commissions, and is particularly interested in breaking down market barriers to the expansion of renewable energy.

WHAT’S A PLACE YOU LOVE IN THE MIDWEST?

As much as I enjoy living in Chicago, I love escaping the urban environment by getting out on Lake Michigan with my community sailing organization and hiking at Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks, as well as my annual summer trip to northern Michigan.

WHAT DRIVES YOU TO DO THIS WORK?

I have always loved the outdoors, but became more aware of the numerous environmental issues threatening our planet and wellbeing when I took an environmental science class in high school. I went to law school with the intent of pursuing a career in environmental advocacy, and ELPC has given me the opportunity to follow this dream and to work with amazing people who share my passion for building a more sustainable world.
