Shaheen Ashraf-Ahmed

Shaheen Ashraf-Ahmed is the development officer at ELPC. Shaheen uses her communication skills to coordinate with program staff and share ELPC’s successes through foundation grant proposals and reports. Shaheen has worked in development and grant administration for over 20 years. Before joining ELPC, Shaheen worked as a grant coordinator for Family Shelter Service and as an RFP specialist for Delta Engineering. Shaheen lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and three children.

WHAT’S A PLACE YOU LOVE IN THE MIDWEST?

I spent some years living in the city and it was a treat to have access to the Lake Michigan lakefront every day. It’s the source of many wonderful memories for our family. Now that we’re out in the suburbs, the lake is one of our favorite places to visit.

WHAT DRIVES YOU TO DO THIS WORK?

It’s an honor to work with and learn from talented colleagues who bring their passion for protecting the environment every day. It takes everyone’s commitment to take care of the Midwest’s beautiful landscapes, clean air, and clean water. We can’t take them for granted.
