“Today’s Trump-inspired attack at the U.S. Capitol is an attack on our nation’s democracy. The American public deserves better, and we are stronger than this as a nation. The voters have spoken in a free and fair election. Those who want to thwart the peoples’ election results through violence must be held accountable. This is the time for all Americans to work together, fight misinformation and the politics of vitriol and hate of the last four years, and advance a democracy that’s fair for all.”
