It’s not hyperbole to say the budget cuts to National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the National Weather Service will put lives at risk. This lean operation works 24/7, 365 days a year serving all of us with weather system satellites, doppler radars, all of the forecasting tools, data, and science to predict tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, cold and heat waves.
Without that data, forecasts will be less accurate and timely notifications of severe weather can be delayed – that puts lives at risk.
