The Trump EPA’s Rollbacks Threaten Vital Clean Air, Water Safeguards

Washington, DC – The Trump U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced its plans to weaken 31 vital environmental protections for public health and our environment.

Statement from Howard Learner, CEO, Environmental Law & Policy Center

“The Trump EPA is turning back the clock by attacking bedrock protections for healthy clean air and safe clean water in our communities.  EPA Administrator Zeldin’s actions today weaken standards that are designed to limit public exposure to and harms from soot pollution, mercury and other air toxics, and power plant pollution.

The EPA is departing from its statutory mission to protect public health and our environment.  We will all pay the price from the increased pollution that impacts our lives and communities.

The Environmental Law & Policy Center will challenge the Trump EPA’s attacks on important regulatory safeguards for healthy clean air, safe clean water, and avoiding toxic threats to our public health.”
