Brian Lynk

Senior Attorney

Brian Lynk is a Senior Attorney at ELPC’s Washington, DC office, focused on protecting clean air and great places in the Midwest from rollbacks of federal environmental protections. After graduating from Yale Law School and beginning his legal career in the private sector, Brian clerked for the late Honorable Sterling Johnson, Jr. on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He went on to have a distinguished 25-year career in public service as a Trial Attorney and Senior Trial Counsel in the Environmental Defense Section of the U.S. Department of Justice. Among other accomplishments, Brian led an enforcement team that received the Tom C. Clark II Award, the highest litigation team honor of the Justice Department’s Environment & Natural Resources Division. Brian spends much of his spare time enjoying nature and the outdoors, especially hiking and scuba diving.

What’s a place you love in the Midwest?

I grew up within a bike’s ride of the Lake Erie shoreline in Lorain, Ohio, and have fond memories of enjoying Ohio’s wonderful beaches, such as Lakewood Park with its views of the historic Lorain Lighthouse.

What drives you to do this work?

I feel it is both an obligation and a genuine privilege to do all within my power to help make our country and the world a cleaner and healthier place, for my children’s benefit and for all of us.
