Callie Sharp

Callie Sharp is an Associate Attorney at ELPC. Prior to joining ELPC, Callie worked in the Environmental and Consumer Protection unit of Weitz and Luxenberg in New York, where she sought justice for farmers, landscapers, and consumers who were diagnosed with cancer as a result of pesticide exposure. During law school, Callie worked with various environmental organizations, including Earthjustice in Washington, DC, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Regional Counsel in Chicago, Great Rivers Environmental Law Center in St. Louis, and the Washington University Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic. Callie also worked at Argonne National Laboratory, conducting laboratory and field research related to climate change modeling, soil science, and biofuels.

WHAT’S A PLACE YOU LOVE IN THE MIDWEST?

I love the city of Chicago, the forest preserves of Illinois, and camping near Whitewater, Wisconsin.

WHAT DRIVES YOU TO DO THIS WORK?

I believe that every person has a right to clean air, clean water, safe and healthy communities, and enjoyment of nature. For too long, these rights have been deprioritized and dismantled in the service of greed and discrimination, particularly for environmental justice communities. I am honored and privileged with the opportunity to dedicate my career to the fight for these rights.
