Gillian Vaz-Cronin

As ELPC’s Chief HR Officer, Gillian Vaz-Cronin is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources. Gillian is an HR leader who combines her passion for human capital with making an impact on people’s lives through health and environment awareness and advocacy. Gillian was previously the Sr. Director, Talent leading a large team of HR professionals at the Alzheimer’s Association National Office. Prior HR leadership roles include HR Director at the Merchandise Mart, Chicago.

What’s a place you love in the Midwest?

Mackinac Island. The stunning confluence of the waters of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron, combined with the pristine beauty of Mackinac Island make it a very special place. Arch Rock on Mackinac offers a most awe-inspiring yet serene view of the sandy shore, with the crystal clear, blue-green waters undulating beyond.

What drives you to do this work?

The Midwest has been endowed with great beauty and biodiversity. I firmy believe it’s up to each of us to educate about it, as well as cherish, and protect it. I feel most at peace surrounded by nature and want to do everything I can to help each species of it’s flora and fauna thrive.
