Associate Attorney
Kerri Gefeke is an Associate Attorney at ELPC focusing on clean air and water issues throughout the Midwest, including those arising from agricultural runoff and those affecting disadvantaged communities disproportionately impacted by pollution. Kerri is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law where she participated in the International Human Rights Clinic and the Pro Bono Litigation Clinic, and served as a Staff Editor of the Law Review. Prior to law school, Kerri received her MS in Earth and Environmental Science from University of Illinois Chicago and also has bachelor’s degrees in geology and history. In her off time, Kerri loves to read, travel, and hike, and also continues to serve the community as a commissioned officer in the Illinois Army National Guard.
Growing up on the south shore of Lake Superior, I fell in love with swimming in its cold clear waters and hiking through its forests. The North Woods, from the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, hold some of the most magical areas of the Midwest.
I want to effect change and leave a positive impact on the world. I’m excited to be a part of a team that is addressing climate change as the pivotal issue of our time while also recognizing the importance of environmental justice in securing clean air and water for all.
