Mary Frances O’Connor

Mary Frances O’Connor is the chief development officer at ELPC. She was previously vice president of development at the Better Government Association. She’s an experienced development and communications executive with nonprofit groups. Mary Frances is also an award-winning news and documentary producer. Her production background includes six years with Bill Kurtis Productions where she produced the Primetime Emmy-nominated documentary series Cold Case Files.

WHAT’S A PLACE YOU LOVE IN THE MIDWEST?

Lake Michigan! I love sunrise bike rides along Chicago’s lakefront path, dog walks at lakefront parks, and the sandy beaches of Michigan’s shoreline.

WHAT DRIVES YOU TO DO THIS WORK?

I’m inspired to protect the environment because so much is possible. What we do today shapes the future for generations to come. We can change the course of climate change, if we act now. I’m also especially motivated to work with the incredibly smart and dedicated team at ELPC.
