Media Relations Specialist
Judith Nemes is a media relations specialist at ELPC, working directly with the press building public awareness for ELPC’s clean water, clean transportation, and clean air initiatives, as well as natural resources protection. Before joining ELPC in 2015, she was a longtime freelance journalist writing news stories and features for the Chicago Tribune, Crain’s Chicago Business, Crain’s New York Business, Edible Chicago, and other news organizations. She specialized in environmental issues, urban sustainability, and healthcare features. She also was an adjunct professor in journalism at Columbia College Chicago. Judith was born in Montreal, Canada, and has called Chicago home for more than 30 years.
I love our beach house in southwest Michigan, just a few minutes from Lake Michigan: hiking in the dunes with my family and Great Pyrenees dogs, cycling on quiet roads, watching sunsets on the beach with a glass of wine, and buying fruits and vegetables at nearby farmers markets.
Climate change is the most dangerous threat today and I worry about a livable planet for my children if we don’t act boldly, swiftly. I was a longtime reporter, but felt compelled to join the advocacy side, put my skillset to better use. I love working with brilliant, passionate colleagues who share my values.
