Electronic Waste Recycling Bill a Big Win in Illinois

Recently-enacted legislation requires electronics manufacturers to collect and recycle or reuse electronic waste (e-waste). The comprehensive bill creates a system by which manufacturers will partner with recyclers, refurbishers, and others to ensure that home computers, laptops, monitors, televisions, and printers will be kept out of Illinois landfills. Two Victories for Clean Air and Water in Kentucky

Thirty-five years after the federal Clean Water Act passed, most Midwestern states still have not adopted all of the water quality standards required by the Act. The consequence: polluted rivers and lakes that harm aquatic life and fail to achieve our quality of life goals.
